Beeline Web Clipper Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 28, 2026
Last updated: August 28, 2026
This policy is specifically for the Beeline Web Clipper Chrome extension. Beeline Learn (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us") publishes it.
It supplements our general Privacy Policy. If you use the clipper through an organisation, that organisation is typically the Responsible Party (or Data Controller). Beeline is the Operator (or Data Processor), as in the general policy.
Opening the clipper and signing in is consent to the practices below. The clipper has one purpose: save a web page into your Beeline workspace library.
This page sits alongside our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.
Collection
We collect only what the clipper needs to sign you in and save the page you are looking at.
- Account data you provide: email or phone, and password. After sign-in we receive your name and user id. You then select a workspace (organisation) and team.
- Page data from the open tab when you open the clipper or tap Save: URL, title, meta description and Open Graph image URL when present, any text you have selected, an optional note you type, and the favicon URL for the popup preview. If you are signed in, URL, title, and description may also be sent for skill suggestions before you tap Save.
We do not collect passwords for other websites. We do not collect full browsing history. We do not run advertising, analytics, or third-party trackers in the extension. We do not sell personal information.
Handling
We use this data only for the clipper's single purpose.
- Credentials go to https://api.beeline.life to authenticate you.
- The saved URL, title, and note become a learning resource in the workspace library you chose.
- URL, title, and description may be sent to Beeline competency analysis to suggest skills.
- Selected text and your note may be attached as skill context when the organisation has that feature enabled.
- You may assign the saved item to people or teams you manage.
We do not use clipper data to advertise. We do not sell it. We do not use it to train public AI models for sale.
Storage
- On this device, in Chrome local storage (chrome.storage.local): sign-in tokens, the profile fields needed to stay signed in, the last workspace and team you selected, and a short cache of teams (about five minutes). We remove this when you sign out, clear extension data, or uninstall.
- On Beeline servers in the organisation workspace: the saved page (URL, title, note) as a library item; skill tags; optional assignment records; and the account data already on your Beeline user.
Server retention follows the Privacy Policy: account data while the account is active; deletion typically within 30 days of a valid request.
Sharing
- Clipper data is sent over HTTPS only to https://api.beeline.life. We do not send page content to other websites from the extension.
- Inside the organisation, workspace admins and managers can see saved items, the same as other Beeline content.
- Vendors that run Beeline (the same list as the general policy, only those relevant here): Google Cloud, DigitalOcean, and Azure for hosting; Gemini, OpenAI, xAI, and Claude for skill suggestions from URL, title, and description when analysis runs; Sentry for error diagnostics.
- We may disclose information where the law requires it, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We do not sell data. We do not share clipper data with advertisers.
